Helped The Minoan Group plc (formerly Loyalward Group Plc) with the residential component of their business- and master-plan on a 6,000 acre (2,500 ha) plot on the Toplou peninsula in the north east of Crete.
Itanos Gaia is a €270 million investment and will comprise a 5-Star hotel, 600 holiday homes and an 18-hole golf course.
The land is owned by the Greek Orthodox Church on which sits Toplou monastery. When I visited several years ago, I was treated to a glass or two of the monastery’s very fine, home-made Tsikoudia, a grape-based Cretan brandy, as I sat with Tim Hill and Abbot Filotheos under a beautiful Cretan sky. A highly memorable day!
